With the widespread introduction of emerging transportation technology—like autonomous vehicles, e-scooters, dynamic parking —our cities will see rapid change in how we design, operate, and move. The City of Buffalo asked, “how can we and similar communities across North America start today to put these transformational mobility innovations to work unlocking a new era of opportunity, access, and equity?” This session will present the findings and recommendations from the report, which merge policy considerations around land use and mobility while being mindful of post Covid-19 challenges, and proposes the establishment of a mobility and equity innovation zone.
