Downtown Boston’s Motor Mart Garage slated for major redevelopment
The owners of a parking garage in downtown Boston have proposed constructing a 20-story tower on top of the existing parking structure.
Key findings
The new building would include 306 apartments and condos while maintaining 672 parking spaces in the garage below. The plans also include 46,000 square feet of mixed-use retail and restaurant space.
The project as proposed would cast shadows over portions of the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common located a few blocks away, which may be opposed by the public.
