Connected vehicles combine several technologies to provide the capability for vehicles to identify threats hazards on the road and communicate those obstacles to drivers through a wireless network.



Automated vehicles are vehicles where some (or all) safety-critical control functions are done without driver input.



Automated and connected vehicle technologies are rapidly growing and could have significant impacts on safety, mobility, energy consumption, efficiency, sustainability, and land use.
