Not knowing everything about the future doesn’t mean not knowing anything about the future.
The impacts of COVID are far reaching and are disrupting multiple aspects of cities. In this webinar, Urbanism Next will be presenting research across multiple sectors - including transportation, land use, urban design, real estate, and building design - to get a more holistic view of COVID’s impacts. This allows us to better understand the relationships and interplay between disruptions, how one might build on another, and to get a sense of which of these impacts might persist into the future. Having a more comprehensive view of impacts can limit uncertainty and help us plan more effectively.
This research builds upon the Urbanism Next Framework, laying out the direct impacts of COVID and tracing the multi-level impacts this could have on various aspects of urban transport, form, and development. Discussants Jyot Chadra of NUMO and Maya Ben Dror of the World Economic Forum (invited) will discuss the findings and contextualize them through challenges facing some of the cities they currently work with.
