Eric Mink
Program Manager MaaS
Eric Mink is an experienced program manager. He started his career working at the ministry of Finance where he worked on the introduction of the euro and on integration of financial markets and banking supervision. from 2005 he works for the ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, where he worked on contracts for Public Transport Operators and started a major program on rail safety (European Rail Traffic Management System). Since 2017 he is program manager for the 7 national MaaS pilots in the Netherlands. Together with 7 regions, his team has kicked-off 7 national pilots for MaaS. Based on a harmonized definition, but each with their own policy goals or target groups.
MaaS in the Netherlands is a means, not an end. 5 of the 7 pilots have now been awarded via tenders and start in the beginning of 2020. The ministry is building an ecosystem with partners, based on data-sharing, co-operation and standards. The Netherlands is working on standardization in order to create an ecosystem where a level-playing-field for both MaaS Service Providers as transport/mobility operators is guaranteed. Given that all private parties within the framework agreement have agreed to share their data with governments, the aim is to learn together what the (behavioural) effects of MaaS are. Based on the data that is collected in a mutual learning envirenmont, the Neherlands is aiming for realtime optimization of the mobility system on policy goals such as sustainability, traffic jams, occupancy ratios for public transport and accessibility of rural areas.
